I went home last December 25 in Bacolod and it was just good to be home. I’ve been eating quite a lot with friends – I barely stay in the house. If I do, I just sleep and then wake up and go out again. Mom said that I should stop eating since I might get “fat” and stuff, but I have to enjoy everything that ONLY Bacolod can offer.
I was really excited going home and at the same time scared that I might go back to what I was doing in college. I might see friends and we might end up drinking (not the drink till you drop stuff) but I stopped drinking a few months back and realized that it has done nothing good to me nor to my body. I kept on praying to Him that I need to be disciplined and I should stay away from the other side of the town and be firm in saying no. Gladly, no one asked me to meet up and drink yet. It’s nice to know that people can learn to respect choices and decisions.
So my friends and I kept it simple – teas/coffee/pizza/desserts and foods not found in Manila. I met up with Kitty, Lesly and Princess for a quick chat up and found ourselves eating pizza and drinking shakes in Bascon Cafe. We also had our “photo ops” at L’Fisher Chalet.
I’ve eaten spicy shrimps and baked scallops from Pala-Pala and ice cream cake in Calea. Mom and I also went to the spa and had our total relaxation time. It’s all I can give to Mom. Haha! Now, I’m broke. The gas is killing me! It’s like I have to drop by the gasoline station and put enough on the car so I can drive around – everyday. Nakakastress! *wink
Today, Miguel, Bibar, Bibar’s brother Fred, and I went to Manokan Country and we ate authentic Bacolod chicken inasal. My mom said that you can just eat inasal in Manila since there’s Bacolod Chicken Inasal fastfood — but no! Bacolod Chicken Inasal is overpriced and the chicken is nothing close to chicken inasal here. And my friends are asking for chicken inasal as pasalubongs. I’ll try to get those for you, but I don’t know if I am allowed or stuff. But I’ll try my best.
And just tonight, after arriving from gala, I checked my Accenture email and God has just made my 2012 an amazing year into the best year! He really has a way of surprising people and giving what is more than enough to His kids – not that the news is anything extraordinary compared to my colleagues but I am just amazed as to how He can complete your year in the most unexpected way. I am now a regular employee of Accenture which only means I am entitled to a good number of vacation leaves! Yey! Thank you so much, dear Lord. What am I without You?
2012 is just a fun year. I achieved whatever I needed to achieve this year and I am so looking forward for a good year in 2013. I hope 2013 can top off this year – I have a feeling it can, especially now that I know the Lord is with me and will always guide me through whatever. I will always hold on to His promise in Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
That reminds me I need to make my faith resolution and my 2013 official memory verse theme.
For everything and with everyone, thank You so much!
