Ever since high school, I wasn’t the type of person who’s very patient when it comes to downloading – especially when I used to have vibe as an Internet connection. I’m not really sure if torrents were already present at those times, but in college, everyone was all over the Internet downloading movies. And as the hardworking scavenger that I am, I never downloaded anything and instead asked some from my classmates.
Sometimes, no, most of the time, I would ask someone to find me something.. from Death Note to Anacondas to some documentary films about snakes in 2001. They would tell me to find it in piratebay or kat, but I was too lazy. The searching part isn’t hard, the downloading is. I don’t like leaving my laptop on for the whole night. I don’t like that streak of light emitting from my laptop and filling my room. I never liked it.
Thank goodness, in college we had a classmate (MC) who we call “Video City”. She had this hard drive filled with movies, ranging from romance to horror and I was one of her many clients. Every week, I would prepare my flash drive and get movies from her. I was just amazed how she would get hold of those movies which were just released in the cinemas, and those were in clear copies.
Speaking of flash drive, I just realized that I left mine in Bacolod. Awesome. I only have one and I got it as a freebie from Accenture, nevertheless I wouldn’t have one. I never bought any flash drive in my entire college life — and to think I was a Comsci student. Everything nowadays are in soft copy and I never had anything to store the files to. And I left it somewhere, either somewhere in my room or in one of my bags. I have my thesis stored in that flash drive and I have no backup. I should really start doing backups for my files. But I’m too lazy to do that.
Back to the topic, just last night, I tried downloading Hotel Transylvania and I posted it as a status on Facebook. My little brother chatted me up and told me not to download anything not original as I can go to prison because of the cybercrime law and that I should change my profile picture to a black one. I told him that the people who use black photos are considered protesting at the cyercrime law and that they are considered ‘rallyists’ so they will be thrown in prison. I was expecting he’d throw a witty sarcastic reply and indeed he did, “Ano nami nga profpic man? Naruto?” Hahaha. He was so alert.
And that Hotel Transylvania avi file was crap. 19seconds but 890MB? Who are you kidding? I left my laptop overnight only to have that kind of file. Tsk tsk. I tried to hunt for it and just try to watch it online, but nahhh, nothing. I got nothing. Only those “If you wanna watch this movie, you have to answer this crappy question about beef or veggies”.
All in all, I am not a talented torrent scavenger. Half of you probably clicked this link to get ideas as to how you can find movie torrents in clear copies, so here are two advices I can give: one, check out the seeders and peers. If you have a lot of seeders, then the download will be fast. Two, check out the comments. If there are a lot of comments and if those are good ones, chances are, you’re actually downloading a decent file.
And to half of you who probably already knew I am not the best torrent scavenger, and yet still clicked this link, you have probably helped me find some files on the Internet before, and this is my chance to say thank you! Hahahahaha!
(This is such a crappy entry. No sense at all. Bear with me.)
